Adele has lost quite a lot of weight of late, which is evident from the recent pictures of hers on social media. The British singer-songwriter appeared significantly transformed in the picture she posted a picture on Instagram earlier this month, thanking fans for wishing her on her 32nd birthday.

Adele’s weight loss photo went viral and had the tabloid tongues wagging over how she managed to pull this off. Experts are estimating Adele has lost a whopping 7st (44.5 kg) in total over the course of her career. And the rumor is, Adele’s weight loss secret includes gym sessions, Pilates and Sirtfood Diet plan.

The Sirtfood Diet is a meal plan based on a book of the same name by Aidan Goggins and Glen Matten. According to the creators, the diet helps lose weight by targeting to improve and reset metabolism via cellular wellness at a genetic level. This diet has been a part of Adele’s weight loss journey for a while now, under the guidance of her personal trainer Pete Geracimo.

There are some core eating features that the Sirtfood diet concentrates on, which definitely played a role in Adele’s impressive weight loss.

  • Sirtuin Activators

Sirtfood diet revolves around foods which are high in ‘sirtuin activators’ – a quality that helps suppress excess appetite, better processes sugar and fat in our bodies, and largely delays ageing. Some of these ‘super foods’ that was part of Adele’s diet were kale, buckwheat, dark chocolate, turmeric, and lots of green tea. Some others are red wine, onions, soy, walnuts, coffee, parsley and capers.

  • Calorie restriction

The Sirtfood diet puts a strict cap on a day’s calorie allowance at 1,000 calories. Adele’s weight loss diet reportedly was on plenty of green juice towards the beginning of the process, to help get rid of toxins from the body and re-establish good metabolism.

  • Cutting out certain foods

As part of her diet, the Grammy, Golden Globe and Academy Award winner also had to cut out certain foods from her everyday schedule. These include processed foods and drinks, caffeine, cigarettes, alcohol, anything overly spicy, tangy or citrusy, and the ten cups of two-spoon-sugar tea that she used to have. Adele is not the only public figure to have embraced this popular form of dieting, which focuses more on eating right and rejects the idea of eating less. Duchess of Cambridge’s sister Pippa Middleton and mixed martial artist Conor McGregor are loyal patrons of the meal plan. Other than Sirtfood diet, the ‘Skyfall’ singer had also taken up Pilates and regular gym sessions to get into the shape she wanted.
